LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COURSE FACILITATION
Facilitation is one of the foundational elements of our service. Even the best curriculum is useless if it is not delivered in a relevant, engaging, and understandable way. All our facilitators are career facilitators dedicated to both the industry and Leadership Development. Because we are facilitators as opposed to strictly instructors, not only can we deliver the content, but we also can observe, monitor and address group process issues that can both enhance, and, if not managed well, impede participant learning.
Because of our focus on the industry, we are able to relate the content we deliver to specific industry events. For example, Leadership Courage could be delivered in a very generic way, using generic examples. That’s not the way we teach it. We use industry examples and case studies such as the Davis Besse Head Degradation Event to spotlight where Leadership Courage was called for, and the impact of not doing so. Because we both design and deliver content, we fine tune each presentation based on lessons learned from the session before, ever improving each and every class we deliver.

CURRICULUM DESIGN
We have created or co-created curriculum for some of the longest running training programs in the industry, including one 4 week Leadership Development program for a leading utility that has been delivered without interruption for over 15 years. Additionally, one of our designs is being used at a leading provider of nuclear services for over 10 years.
Our curriculum design work is not “one and done.” It is an ever evolving process that builds in to each next session everything we learned from the last. We are particularly fanatical about engagement. We are always looking for ways to minimize the use of both lecture, and more importantly, PowerPoint. We are firm believers in the principles identified in John Medinas’ book Brain Rules. One of those principles involves the degree to which adults provide complete attention to whatever is in front of them. The bad news? It’s about 10 minutes. The good news? We design our content to switch modality approximately every 10 minutes. Of course, our industry experience and awareness of ADDIE and ACAD standards can be assumed.
